Events - My paintings in the 61st Annual Aurora Art Show & Sale

Finding inspiration to write a poem from one of my paintings makes a perfect art day for me. Larger images of these paintings and their Ekphrastic / companion poems are in the gallery.

"In Love and Khakis" is a watercolour wax batik painting on Ginwashi paper. It was inspired by my photo of an elderly couple. Feeling, writing and reading its poem touches my heart:)

"The Girl I Was" is a watercolour painting combined with wax crayons. The joyful artist freedom that I found in the traditional kid box of 8 wax crayons inspired its wee poem.

"Fairy Roots" is a watercolour wax batik painting on Ginwashi paper. Fairies are my favourite imaginary friends:) and when one definitely appeared in this painting without me painting it in, I was thrilled! Should you want to find it, look for the wee head and shoulders of a little fairy in a pointed hood in right lower quadrant.
