"In Love and Khakis"
They're arm in arm and
their photo haunts me.
I return for another view.
Leaning on one another,
so it's hard to say who's
holding whom up
in matching beige on beige,
in beige skin topped with
even beige-er wrinkles.
Their matching Tilleys,
panti hose, sandals, and
ironed khaki creases,
I save to my phone.
I wanna paint their love
and their beige.
And I wanna love like that,
when I age like that.
Just not in beige.
